INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS:  This is a Blended Course format. This is an "online" class on days we working online & on days we have a discussion, lecture, guest speaker or class collaboration your work will be completed in class. This class may also have an experience piece that will require hands on work and reflections.  You are EXPECTED to log in every day and fulfill the requirements.  Failure to communicate may lead to you being dropped from the class. We will be using Canvas.  A large focus will be on learner-centered activities that promote independent and critical thinking skills, thus blended independent learning on some days.  If, you ever experience technological issues based on school wifi, home internet or Canvas you need to communicate immediately with teacher and do whatever you can and critically think how to turn in work in a timely matter. Your teacher can always help you if you communicate.

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSE TIMES:

Email response time is 48 Hours

Grading Assignments:

  • Deadlines will be daily by 11;59PM.  Each assignment in Canvas will specify which day of the week it is due.  You have flexibility in your schedule to determine when you work on your projects, but it is an expectation that work will be submitted by the deadline post daily.
  • Regular Assignments (discussions, quizzes, assignments with objective questions) grades will be posted.  Please check your Canvas grades as I leave comments on some assignments.  I will comment also on the discussion boards when they are live and will submit the grade as soon as you have completed the comment requirements.  Canvas scores will be transmitted to PowerSchool ASAP.
  • Critical Thinking Assignments (essays, term papers, projects, assignments with subjective questions) Critical thinking also needs to be applied in all your Health work this semester.

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS:  Pencil/Pen, Laptop or access to Canvas. We will also have a shared Google document to address daily/weekly Health class issues if you need assistance and teacher is unavailable.
