Fast Food and You Web Quest
For this assignment we will be looking at the caloric content in your favorite fast food restaurants. You will make a copy of this and submit it in Canvas.
As a class, we will work through the process of converting grams of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins to calories using the 4-4-9 Rule.
1 Gram of Carbohydrates = 4 calories
1 Gram of Protein = 4 Calories
1 Gram of Fat = 9 Calories
What percentage of each nutrient should we consume on a daily basis? For a normal diet, you should consume the following percentages of these nutrients:
CARBOHYDRATES: 50% OF YOUR DAILY CALORIC INTAKE
PROTEINS: 30% OF YOUR DAILY CALORIC INTAKE
FATS: 20% OF YOUR DAILY CALORIC INTAKE
THIS IS REFERRED TO AS THE 50-30-20 RULE.
